I recently discovered that E-Bay have decided to ban black metal! this enrages me. A bunch of christians got offended by this music subculture and decided to ban it. hey, what about freedom of religion? these guys are pagans, they shouldnt be excluded because of it. One of the albums banned doesnt even have words in it.
If anything the pagans should be angry at the christians, theyre the ones that started the bloody conversion after the black death took its toll. Then whitewashed over their festivals and named them "christian holidays" such as easter and christmas. Christians should really learn to open their mind a tiny bit
Anyways, since the emergence of Black metal in Norway, the media portrayed them as satanists and sent mass hysteria all around the world, especially around the arrest of Varg Vikernes.
I think those christians are seriously missing the point though. Black metal fans understand the culture and see the humour within the image and songs, they dont worship satan, they dont burn churches down at the weekend, maybe it's time they did (joke).
My point is...Black metal is still being shunned by society because it is misunderstood, so they label it as a threat. but what is more influential? rap music talking about their bitches, guns and drugs... Or Black metal music talking of frostbitten kingdoms and norse mythology? hmm
